Monument to the Holocaust of Santa

The opening work of Kalevras’s recorded public sequence, raised in 1968 at the Panagia Soumela Monastery on Mount Vermio. Built of dark stone with marble reliefs and crowned by an eagle, it commemorates the destruction of the seven villages of Santa in Pontos in 1921; the inscription calls on the passer-by to stand silent and contemplate the holocaust of heroic Santa.
