Monument of Police Officers («Liberty»)
Μνημείο Πεσόντων Χωροφυλακής («Ελευθερία»)
A bronze figure of 1980 in front of the Third Army Corps headquarters in Thessaloniki, dedicated to officers fallen in service, in the monograph’s words, a splendid offspring of the ancient Greek Nike. Ramrod straight, «Liberty» lifts her left arm in a gesture of dissuasion while the right stretches out protectively; one foot fixed, the other slightly raised, her garments rippling with the motion. Photograph from the monograph in the estate archive.
