DOCUMENTED SUCCESSION

A continuous record from the artist to the present collection.

Safeguarding the works and archives, recording their condition and supporting responsible conservation, exhibition and transport.

02

Documentation

Maintaining a consistent inventory of provenance, materials, dimensions, inscriptions, casting information and related archival evidence.

03

Integrity

Distinguishing documented fact, informed scholarly conclusion and information that remains under investigation.

CATALOGUING & AUTHENTICATION

Evidence before attribution.

Every work accepted into the inventory receives a unique Estate Inventory Number. No title, date, material, edition or provenance is assigned solely on the basis of visual assumption.

  • Records may include photographs, dimensions, weight, material, inscriptions, provenance, condition, exhibition history and related models or drawings.
  • Unverified information is identified as Not Documented, Date Unknown, Under Review or Attributed to Efthymios Kalevras.
  • An Estate Certificate is issued only after review against the inventory and available archival records.
  • No cast is described as a lifetime cast without supporting evidence. Any authorised posthumous cast is expressly identified as posthumous.
  • A photographic opinion is preliminary and does not constitute authentication.

VERIFICATION & RIGHTS

One official point of reference.

Museums, foundations, galleries, auction houses, researchers and prospective acquirers may request verification of an inventory number, certificate, provenance statement, representative's authority or the documentary status of a work.

No gallery, dealer, intermediary, researcher or other third party may claim to represent the Estate, authenticate a work on its behalf or issue an Estate Certificate without prior written authorisation.

Ownership of a physical work and ownership or administration of copyright are legally distinct matters. Images, texts and catalogue records on this website may not be reproduced or used commercially without prior written permission.

"The Efthymios Kalevras Estate" is the official archival and curatorial designation of the collection owned and administered by Stavros Frangoulidis: a private archive, independent of any public authority, museum or foundation. Its statements cover the works and records held in the current Estate inventory. Works held by museums, institutions, private collectors and other third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
