MEMORY IN PUBLIC SPACE
From 1968 onwards, Kalevras was commissioned to create monuments and memorials for towns and institutions across Greece. The works carry the same sculptural vocabulary as his independent practice into a civic scale, where they are seen daily rather than visited.
FEATURED WORK
Dedicated to the people of Pontos, the memorial gathers its figures into a single upward movement in which individual gesture and collective memory are held together.
