Seated Figure around a Void

A compact seated figure is organized around a large oval opening that becomes the center of the composition. The small rounded head and the broad lower plane establish a calm vertical balance. Smooth curves move continuously from shoulder to torso and into the extended base. The void is treated as an active presence, giving lightness and inward depth to the solid form.
