A reclining female body extends across the foreground while two seated figures rise behind it. Their simplified heads, shoulders, and arms interlock within a broad horizontal composition, turning support into the work’s central structure. Rounded marble volumes soften the transitions between one body and the next, so that the group reads as a single continuous mass. The figures are distinct without becoming isolated. Companionship is presented here as balance: the quiet presence of others sustaining a vulnerable body.
